About:

Aleksandra Goclawska has graduated from Hispanic Studies at the University of Warsaw. Her research interests include the notion of translatability, the discourses of ‘national literature’ and the formal manifestations of national identities in contemporary literature. She has published on Catalan speaking, Polish and Latin American writers such as Carme Riera, Maria-Mercè Marçal, Julia Fiedorczuk, Diego Trelles Paz or Piedad Bonnett.

As a PhD student on Strand 1 of the project, “Multilingualism: Empowering Individuals, Transforming Societies” at the University of Cambridge, Aleksandra is exploring the discourses of impurity and the use of multilingualism in the literary work of Maria-Mercè Marçal and Julia Fiedorczuk.
