Prof Caroline Bassett

Professor of Digital Humanities in the Faculty of English and Director of Cambridge Digital Humanities

Caroline leads Cambridge Digital Humanities, an interdisciplinary research centre working between multiple units and faculties at the University of Cambridge. She is lead UK investigator on IFTe, an AHRC and Irish Research Council network exploring gender, technology and Digital Humanities. Caroline researches, writes and teaches on questions arising around the intersections between technologies and cultural forms and practices with an interest in critical theory, gender and technology, AI and digital futures. Recent publications include Furious, a co-authored monograph written with Sarah Kember and Kate O’Riordan (Pluto, 2020) and journal articles including work on automation anxiety and AI.
