UPCOMING MEETING

RLS 45 - Trinity Hall, Cambridge - 5-6 January 2017

ABOUT RLS

The Romance Linguistics Seminar (RLS) first met in January 1973 and has been meeting annually ever since at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, usually during the first week of the New Year. It accepts papers on any aspect of Romance Linguistics, within any theoretical framework. Founded by Joe Cremona and his pupils, its nucleus is still formed by Romance Linguists working in the United Kingdom, though visitors from overseas are also welcomed. Registered Research Students, for whom there are financial reductions, are particularly encouraged to attend and to give papers.

The Seminar is organised jointly by the Department of Italian at Cambridge University and The Research Centre for Romance Linguistics at Oxford University.

The emphasis is on informality and a friendly and constructive atmosphere in which views can be expressed and exchanged. Organization (and cost) is kept to a minimum, though we do permit ourselves the luxury of a convivial dinner party. We do not publish Proceedings, the hope being that this will encourage contributors to be experimental in presentations, and that worthwhile contributions will naturally find their way into refereed journals.

Papers are accepted broadly on a first-come first-served basis, with priority being given to first-time presenters, and a ban on the same person presenting a paper two years running.
