Faculty Library

Welcome to the MMLL Faculty Library!

Using the MMLL Library

The Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics Library houses over 125,000 books, periodicals and DVDs, catering for all taught courses offered within the MMLL Faculty at undergraduate and MPhil level. The Library is divided into sections covering the ten languages taught in MMLL, as well as medieval European languages, linguistics, art and cinema.

The library is spread across three floors in the Raised Faculty Building at the heart of the Sidgwick Site, providing cosy nooks and beanbags as well as light and airy workspaces looking out across the site’s green spaces.

We welcome all members of the University and the general public to the library, to use our space and consult our material on site. Only current members of the University are entitled to borrow from the MMLL Library.

Support from the Library Team

The library staff are available on site and for remote support throughout the year. You can email library@mmll.cam.ac.uk with your query or call us on (0)1223 335041.

You are also welcome to arrange a meeting with your subject specialist to address any referencing or library-related queries you might have. Please send us an email at least 3 hours in advance to ensure we have a little time to prepare and that the meeting is as useful to you as possible. You can find out more about our subject specialists via our Contact page.
