Welcome to the Faculty Library

The Modern and Medieval Languages Library supports teaching and learning in European languages, literatures and cultures and in linguistics. The Library holds over 112,000 books and 3,400 films as well as European magazines and newspapers, e-books, e-journals and a small selection of scholarly print journals. MML undergraduates and MPhil students should find all the material they need for their studies in these collections.

The Library also includes a German research collection, the Beit Library.

Opening hours

Summer Vacation hours start on 12th June. We will be open 9.00 - 17.00 Monday - Friday, closed Saturday & Sunday.

The Library will be closed 17th - 31st August and will re-open on Tuesday 1st September.

Doors are locked 15 minutes before closing time and no more readers are admitted.

Library Closing at 16.00 Today, June 29th

The MML Library will close today at 16.00 to allow all staff to attend the annual MML Faculty garden party. We thank our users for their understanding.

Vacation Hours Start Friday, June 12th

Vacation hours start on Friday 12th June when we will be open 9.00 - 17.00. During the summer, the Library will be open Monday - Friday from 9.00 - 17.00, with doors closing at 16.45. We are closed 17th through 31st August, re-opening Tuesday 1st September at 9.00. We wish all our users a very happy summer holiday!

Vacation Borrowing Starts June 8th
