Faculty Library

Welcome to the Faculty Library

The Modern and Medieval Languages Library supports teaching and learning in European languages, literatures and cultures and in linguistics. The Library holds over 112,000 books and 3,400 films as well as European magazines and newspapers, e-books, e-journals and a small selection of scholarly print journals. MML undergraduates and MPhil students should find all the material they need for their studies in these collections.

The Library also includes a German research collection, the Beit Library.

Opening hours

Term-time hours:

Monday - Friday: 9.00-19.00

Saturday: 11.00 - 16.00.


Doors are locked 15 minutes before closing time and no more readers are admitted.

Screening of BBC Arena film

We are excited to report that the BBC's film Arena is currently screening from the MML Library onto the other wing of the Sidgwick Site's Raised Faculty Building.
