Stephen Pax Leonard is a Research Fellow at Trinity Hall. He is primarily interested in sociolinguistics and linguistic anthropology. His doctoral research focused on the issue of how a linguistic norm and identity were established in early Iceland. Interested in both Scandinavian and Romance linguistics, Stephen Pax Leonard is currently pursuing research on the dynamic of identity in language revitalisation with special emphasis on small speech communities. Other academic interests include historical linguistics and endangered languages and cultures.
