About:

I graduated in Modern Languages in Italy (Macerata), and then obtained an MPhil in Italian Studies in Britain (Birmingham). I completed a postgraduate course in Translation of Anglophone Literature (Pisa), and I am currently completing an MSc in Libraries & Information Science (London). I have been teaching Italian language and culture in UK universities and AE colleges since 1994, holding posts at Leicester University, Anglia Ruskin University (Cambridge) and Nottingham Trent University.

Teaching interests:

At Cambridge I have lectured on translation (ITC1) and on topics in Modern Italian Culture (IT6). I have supervised students on Italian cinema (IT3) and Autobiography (IT4).

Research interests:

My research interests lie in contemporary Italian cultural studies, humour studies and translation. I have published on writer Stefano Benni, comedian Sabina Guzzanti, TV parody and satire, and 70s underground comics. I have co-edited volumes on Italian studies and translation studies. I have also published translations of poetry and fiction.
