Library assistant wanted

Come work with us! We are looking for someone enthusiastic to join our friendly and dedicated library team.

You will provide support in delivering information services tailored to the specific needs of Faculty Library users, undergraduates and postgraduates alike. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrable commitment to providing an excellent customer service.

You will play a key role in supporting the Teaching and Learning Support Librarian in delivering reader services. You will need to demonstrate an ability to think creatively, to problem-solve, and adapt quickly to changes in a busy work environment. You should be proactive and be able to engage positively and confidently with team members and library users.

You will assist with communication to users on a daily basis using email and web interfaces, and develop effective ways of promoting key library services. You will work to promote the library and its provision of newly purchased books and communicate new and existing online resources using various technologies and social media applications. You will assist with work related to the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team.

Knowledge and interest of one or more foreign language and culture would be highly desirable.

You will be expected to work full time (36.5 hours per week) during University term; working hours outside of University term are subject to negotiation.
