Freelance conference interpreter (FR-RU-EN) working for various companies and organisations, including UNESCO, OECD, OSCE, the Council of Europe and the French Government.
Freelance literary translator. Recent published translations into French include Pushkin’s “Tales of Belkin”, Tolstoi’s “The Counterfeit Note”, and monographs on Russian painters Nikolai Fechin and Viktor Popkov.

Research
I read Russian and German at Trinity as an undergraduate, before obtaining an Mphil in European literature and moving on to a PhD in Slavonic Studies. I worked on irony in the Russian novel under the supervision of Prof. Franklin. I studied works by Pushkin, Lermontov, Gogol, Goncharov, Bulgakov and Ilf & Petrov, looking at irony as both an aesthetic/stylistic and ethical category.
