About:

Víctor Acedo Matellán is a Junior Research Fellow at Queens' College. A theoretical linguist, he has specialised in the realisation of verbal argument structure and the syntax-lexicon interaction. In his dissertation, to be published in 2016 by Oxford University Press, he explored issues in the argument structure of Latin, and compared this language to the Slavic and Germanic languages within the domain of the morphosyntactic expression of transition events. Related research interests include the cross-linguistic typology of the expression of motion events, the syntax of roots, the grammatical representation of inner aspect and the diachrony of argument structure from Latin into Romance and within the history of Catalan.
