Milosz Paul Rosinski

[Milosz Paul Rosinski] lives in Berlin & Cambridge, and is from a European background (fluent in Polish, German, English, and French). M.P. Rosinski is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of French, and a member of Trinity Hall. He completes a thesis in French Theory and Contemporary Visual Culture on Art Cinema and Film-Philosophy entitled “Cinema of the Self: A Theory of The Cinematic Self & Practices of Neoliberal Portraiture”. Rosinski holds an MPhil in Screen Media and Cultures (with distinction) from Cambridge, while at Wolfson College, for “Accented Reflections: California in 1980’s French essay film”. His BA is in Humanities (honors), University College Maastricht.

(Rosinski) has been invited to deliver papers and/or chair at more than a dozen conferences, masterclasses, seminars, workshops, and events in the UK (eg Barbican), and continental Europe, including France (eg École Normale Supérieure, Paris), Germany, Sweden, and Poland. In 2015, he was a visiting doctoral researcher at the Friedrich Schlegel Graduiertenschule, Freie Universität Berlin, while also following lectures at the Universität der Künste, Berlin, and being a mentee of the Internationales Kolleg für Kulturtechnikforschung und Medienphilosophie, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. As an undergraduate Erasmus student, he also read French Philosophy at Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne in 2011, and as fully-funded exchange student studied Visual Arts at the University of California, San Diego in 2012.

R’s awards include: (i) doctoral - AHRC, Cambridge Trust, and a grant by the Sir R.C. Jebb Fund; (ii) postgraduate - fellow of the German National Academic Foundation; (iii) undergraduate - a Top 3% Award for Academic Merit by Maastricht University. At MML, Rosinski supervises, and lectures (module five on transnational film) in the paper 'Comparative Studies 6: European Film'. Further research interests and projects are in 20th & 21st century art histories, comparative literatures, and aesthetic theories. For non-academic audiences, he also works in durational art, such as video, and radio. Recent exhibitions of Post-Internet art “The Anthroposcale” (2014; with R.Dernbach) include the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, in 2014.
