Research

I study the constellation of concepts related to land and earth so as to formulate alternative notions of space that focus on graves, mass burial grounds, geographical counterinsurgency tactics and earthquakes.  I focus on Latin America given its historical portrayal as a land of excess. Specifically I look into Guatemalan cultural, political and philosophical history, not as subject of study but as case study.

My work engages with continental philosophy, Mayan thought, political theory, aesthetics - mainly the concept of the sublime- and landscape studies.
