The Anthony Close Scholarship

We are delighted to announce that Clare College (University of Cambridge) has officially approved the Anthony Close Spanish Golden Age Research Scholarship that will fund a PhD student working on Early Modern Spanish and Spanish American Literature and Culture.

The scholarship provides funding for up to a maximum of three years for a student registered for the PhD degree at the University of Cambridge. This studentship has been funded in honour of Dr Anthony Close, who was a member of Cambridge University's Department of Spanish and Portuguese from 1967 to 2004, where he was Reader in Spanish Old Comedy and the department's expert in Cervantes.
