The Norman MacColl Symposium 2014 in Spanish Cinema in honour of Román Gubern is entitled: Canon, contra-canon y cinefilia: Historias del cine español en un contexto internacional. The MacColl Lecturer 2014 will be: Prof Román Gubern Garriga-Nogués, Emeritus Professor, Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. Title of his Lecture: Soñar con los ojos abiertos. Other speakers: Josetxo Cerdán, Sonia García López, Vicente Sánchez-Biosca, Jean-Claude Seguin; Eva Woods Peiró; Francisco Zurian. ALL TALKS WILL BE GIVEN IN SPANISH.

Please note: The Symposium is free and open to the public but those wishing to attend must register for catering purposes by contacting Laura Kemp (ljlk2@cam.ac.uk) by Thursday, 30 October 2014 AT THE LATEST, please.

Venue: The Elton-Bowring Room, Memorial Court, Clare College, Queen's Road, Cambridge, CB3 9AJ. Coffee/tea served from 10.00 (first lecture scheduled for 10.30 a.m.). Tea/coffee will be served at break times and a list of nearby restaurants and pubs can be found here and will also be handed out to those attending on arrival at the Symposium.
