Spanish author Santiago Posteguillo in Cambridge: Seminars on writing a historical novel

Santiago Posteguillo Cambridge 2016

The department of Spanish and Portuguese was delighted to welcome Dr Santiago Posteguillo, a bestselling author who has published to great critical acclaim several historical novels set in Ancient Rome: a trilogy on the figure of Scipio Africanus (2006-2009) and a trilogy on emperor Trajan (2011-2016). He has also published short stories and collections of essays (La noche en que Frankenstein leyó el Quijote, 2012; La sangre de los libros, 2014).

Dr Posteguillo delivered two seminars in Spanish on 1st and 3rd November 2016 that provided a fascinating insight into the theory and practice of writing a historical novel.
