VI Jornades Marçalianes: ‘Dolor de ser i no ser tu: desig’.

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese is delighted to be hosting a symposium on the Catalan writer, teacher, translator and activist Maria-Mercè Marçal at Emmanuel College, Cambridge on Friday 11 November as part of the VI Jornades Marçalianes.  The theme of the symposium is sexuality, desire and eroticism in Marçal’s work.  Please note that papers will be given in the language in which they are listed on the programme (all but one of the papers will be given in Catalan).

The symposium is free to attend and open to all.  A buffet lunch will be provided.  Please register here by Thursday 3 November, if possible.

The symposium has been organised by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese - University of Cambridge, Centre de recerca Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat-ADHUC - University of Barcelona, Laboratoire d’études de genre et de sexualité-LEGS – Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique and Fundació Maria-Mercè Marçal with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull.
