As we head to the Easter weekend, there are two events concerning environmental issues that MML would like to draw attention to. We strongly encourage all of our staff, students and friends to take part in these initiatives.
Earth Hour
Earth Hour, a WWF initiative, is coming up on Saturday 19th March. At 20.30 local time, people all over the world will switch off all non-essential ights for one hour to demonstrate their commitment to Climate Change. There are lots of other things you can do (including changing your profile picture on Facebook to give it a rather jolly lighting effect). You will find lots of information about how you can celebrate Earth Hour here.
World Water Day
Hard on the heels of Earth Hour we have World Water Day next Tuesday, March 22nd. This is an initiative of Water Aid, and they’d like us to turn the world blue on Tuesday in order to promote awareness of issues around sustainable and safe water, sanitation and hygiene. Their website is here. Water Aid is the charity for which our heroic Andrew Webber ran his half marathon a couple of weeks ago. It is not too late to donate to this wonderful cause via Andrew’s Just Giving page.
