The number of young people studying languages in the UK is falling. Determined to change this, the University is running an increasing number of events to highlight the life-changing power of languages.

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese and the Centre of Latin American Studies are pleased to announce a new Consortium in Latin American Cultural Studies for PhD students. Faculty academics elected to the fellowship of the British Academy

Two of the Faculty's Professors have been elected to the fellowship of the British Academy. Professor Robert Gordon, Serena Professor of Italian, and Professor Joachim Whaley, Professor of German History and Thought, both Fellows of Gonville and Caius College, were elected FBA on 16th July 2015.
