British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships 2017

British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships 2017

The Faculty welcomes applications for British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships. The aim of the British Academy in making these awards is to offer opportunities for outstanding early career researchers to strengthen their experience of research and teaching in a university environment. The primary emphasis is on completion of a significant piece of publishable research, which will be assisted by full membership of an academic community of established scholars working in similar fields.

Selection of those candidates whose application to the British Academy will be supported by the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages will take place by competition.  The Faculty will then provide support in the preparation of the final application to the BA.

If you are interested in applying, please discuss with the relevant Head of Department within MML as soon as possible.

Applications to the Faculty should consist of the following:

(a) a brief CV (not exceeding two sides), including the dates on which you took their PhD viva and on which you were awarded the PhD;

 (b) a list of major publications (not exceeding one side);

(c) a brief statement (maximum 250 words) of current research;

(d) a detailed statement of proposed research (maximum 750 words).

  • how your proposed research will tackle this research problem(s) – its design and methodology;
  • how your proposed research will significantly change the established landscape;
  • the appropriateness of Cambridge (and your proposed mentor) for your project.
