Professor Wendy Ayres-Bennett (Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics) has co-authored a new report, The Value of Languages, which argues that urgent action is needed to close the UK languages gap.

The report claims that a lack of language skills is having a major political and economic impact in the UK and that monolingualism is not sufficient.
