We are delighted to share that the University of Cambridge ranked 1st for Modern Languages and 2nd for Linguistics in the QS World University Rankings for 2024 (as indeed was also the case in 2023).

At MMLL we strive to excel across the disciplines we teach and take the needs and outcomes of our students very seriously. This ranking is important to us as a reflection of the hard work and the considered strategy to provide the best possible environment in which students can thrive.

Guide tables exist for the purpose of providing applicants to university with a comprehensive, up-to-date and relevant way to assess which universities and degree programmes best suit their needs. Measurements are made for entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality, research intensity, graduate prospects, student-staff ratio, degree completion, and more.

Although our varied accomplishments and unique initiatives across the Faculty cannot always be fully captured by league tables or metrics, we see this as a significant recognition of our collective efforts and achievements across the board!
