Warmest congratulations to Dr Erica Bellia, who has been awarded a Gulbenkian Early Career Research Fellowship in the Arts and Humanities at Churchill College. She will begin her early career research fellowship on 1 January 2024. Her project, entitled Anthologising Blackness in Post-Fascist Italy, looks at an unexplored corpus of more than thirty anthologies of Black Literature published in Italy from 1945 to the present. These anthologies, which assemble texts by writers of African, African American and Afro-Italian authors, have been one of the few sites in which questions of race have been discussed in postwar Italy. For this reason, they merit urgent critical scrutiny, at a time of rampant racism in Italy.
