Ninety Year 12/13 students attend German Study Day

On Saturday January 27th, Professor Silke Mentchen joined colleagues from Kings' College London, Bristol University and Leeds University as well as a team of teachers from St Paul's School for Girls for a German Study Day.

Year 12 and Year 13 students (approx. 90 students in total) from 19 different schools, including both independent and state-maintained schools, attended a full day.

There were sessions on translation, the GDR, Gender inclusive use of language, history of German, and various seminars, including seminars on listening, comprehension and giving presentations.

The German Section would like to thank Sandra Barth, from St Paul's, has been organising these days for a number of years.

Keep an eye out for further outreach events, including the forthcoming Faculty Open Day on March 15.
